A tractor-trailer rolled off Interstate 95 and crashed onto Route 1 in Milford, Conn., below after a three-vehicle collision on the highway on Thursday, April 13, 2022, police said.
MILFORD — A tractor-trailer truck that was rearended on Interstate 95 south in the city on Wednesday rolled over the metal beam guardrail and fell upside down onto Route 1 below, according to Connecticut State Police.
An accident summary provided by state police on Thursday indicated a 47-year-old Hartford man was driving in the right lane of I-95 southbound near Exit 39B in Milford when he was rearended by a 24-year-old Ansonia woman who used the right shoulder to try to pass another vehicle in front of her.
The report indicated that the Ansonia woman sideswiped the vehicle before hitting the back of the Hartford man’s truck around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
This caused the Hartford driver to lose control and roll over the metal beam guardrail on the right shoulder and crash upside down on Route 1 below the highway, state police said.
The Hartford man was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital with minor injuries. The accident report indicated that the two women suffered suspected minor injuries.
Police did not indicate whether any drivers were issued infractions for the incident.
