Hosts know the time to shine happens once guests walk through the front door. You've perfected the dinner menu, created extra seating, and brought out the nice, yet durable cutlery. A lot goes into entertaining, which is why it's not always easy. Never fear: We're sharing tips and tricks to keep in mind before sending out invites to make your home feel light, bright, and welcoming. All you have to do is get a few entertaining items—and there are several available right on Amazon.

No matter how big or small the gathering, Libby Rawes, interior designer at Sharp + Grey Interiors explains that there are two details that make a home feel especially inviting. "I love to make a home feel comfortable right when you walk in," Rawes said. "Choosing comfortable furniture, lots of texture, and soft materials that are casual, but elevated begs people to sit and stay awhile." And for summer, she opts for natural colors like blue and green, linen accents, and fresh flowers.

If you're not sure where to start, Amazon has an entire section dedicated to indoor entertaining must-haves, including comfy seating, serving trays, minimalistic vases, and more. We combed through the Amazon Home hub to find some of the most on-trend entertaining essentials that are affordable and expert-approved. Pssst, and this list starts at just $15.

Incorporating fresh flowers onto your console or dining table makes a big impact with minimal effort. A summer trend Rawes is seeing this season are unique ceramics. This pretty option is simplistic, yet has a gradient hue at the bottom that ties it all together.

Since loved ones will want to hang out for a while, make sure you give 'em something comfy to sit on. This upholstered arm chair has a curved seat and back that allows guests to sit back and relax. It also has a neutral palette that Rawes likes to blend with decor no matter the season.

A serving tray can be totally decorative, however, it's smart hone in on its functionality, too. Instead of running around refilling everyone's cups, just place a jug of your beverage of choice right on this gold metal serving tray and call it a day. It'll allow guests to serve themselves and give you the opportunity to enjoy the party.

If you don't have a ton of space, Rawes suggests serving small appetizers so people can enjoy while standing or walking about. But that doesn't mean annexing your dining table—use it as your serving station, and this long 47-inch one is perfect for a nice spread. It's made of oak and has a minimalistic design, so you'll love eating on it after guests have trickled out.

Scented candles are great for setting the mood, however, those three-wick options don't look party-worthy, don't you agree? Opt for summer-scented taper candles and place them in these stylish metal holders that come as a set with two different heights for a fun, yet elegant appearance.

Anyone who prefers a minimalistic vase should consider these bud vases that come in a set of three. The vases are hand blown and have a dainty look that's almost romantic thanks to its rounded edges and small mouth for one or two flowers. You can get it in plain transparent or go with the amber option for a pop of color.

Remember how Rawes said comfortable furniture equals happy guests? Well, this faux leather sofa will do you a solid. It has a mid-century modern look, rolled arm rests, and a cushioned backrest that'll have loved ones glued to it all evening. It's available in four styles and sizes, and this one is on sale with a hidden coupon.

Linen clothing may be ideal for summer, but it doesn't stop there—the fabric is now seeping into home decor this season, too, and we're not mad about it. The lightweight texture of this tablecloth gives your dining table a soft appearance thanks to its neutral color scheme and pretty tassel edges.

Another place to swap in that linen texture is on your sofa with these throw pillow covers. What's nice is you can still get the beachy look of linen without entirely replacing your existing cushions because this cover goes right over what you already have at home, and stays secure via a hidden side zipper. No one will be the wiser!

A throw blanket on your couch is also a must. Why? It breaks up the furniture with a pop of color, like this green option from KyraHome. Not only does the color fit right into Rawes' color scheme, it also has a gauzy-like texture that's lightweight and breathable. Read: It's perfect for summer.
