There is one word which is used a lot when detailing the most memorable matches, wins, or angles in WWE history, and that is ‘moment’. WWE loves to create moments, with many living forever in the memories of fans, standing firm through different generations and eras as iconic points in time.

Many of these moments are most remembered for a single image which perfectly capture the moment at hand, with just one frame being used to represent these incredible instances. Whether it be entrances, mid-match moments, celebrations, or reactions, there are many memorable frames throughout WWE history.
Whilst Edge would go on to have several more World Title reigns, his first win was very special. Vince McMahon came out after John Cena had survived a hard-fought Elimination Chamber, announcing that Edge was cashing in his Money in the Bank.
The moment in which Edge hands the briefcase to McMahon has been replayed over and over, with it signaling his move from a midcarder to a main eventer, with it also setting up the MITB to become an iconic part of WWE.
John Cena’s return at the 2008 Royal Rumble is up there with the greatest returns in the history of the event, largely due to how unexpected it was, with Cena scheduled to be out of action for many more months.
The pop was deafening, but the moment in which he lifted up his head, smiling and nodding to the audience, it became even more iconic. Seeing Cena’s happiness at not only returning, but also doing it as a surprise, was perfect, and it summed up a wonderful Rumble moment.
The Montreal Screwjob is one of the most infamous controversies in wrestling history, with WWE screwing Bret Hart out of the WWE Title in an unscripted moment in which he was made to drop the belt without submitting to Michaels’ hold.
With Hart in the ring, surrounded by officials on the outside, cameras caught the moment in which he spat directly at Vince McMahon. With Michaels next to him, trying to play dumb, Hart’s posture showcased not just his embarrassment, but also his complete confusion and anger.
At WrestleMania 30, Daniel Bryan overcame all the odds by becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. This wasn’t supposed to happen, as fan backlash and the support for Bryan led to WWE changing plans and putting Bryan in the main event.
Seeing Bryan raise both belts above his head signaled just how powerful the voices of fans can be, as one of the best babyfaces of all time rose to the top due to the audience loving him so much.
Following four years of all-time classic WrestleMania matches, the trio of The Undertaker, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels walked the ramp arm in arm, before settling at the end of the stage. These three legends from a past era embraced and stood together, looking out at the WrestleMania crowd.

This was a stunning and emotional moment, with it feeling like a true changing of the guard as HHH and Undertaker would fully become part-time stars following this.
Walking into WrestleMania 13, Steve Austin was a heel. Coming out of the match, he had the support of fans as a hard-as-nails and courageous babyface. His submission match with Bret Hart was stunning, and it was remembered for an incredible finish.
With his face bloodied, Austin was crying out in pain in the sharpshooter submission, unwilling to give up, ultimately passing out as he would refuse to tap, leading to what would be the best executed double turn in wrestling history.
At WrestleMania 18, two icons from two separate eras went toe-to-toe in a dream match. Prior to the bell, The Rock and Hulk Hogan faced off with a raucous and thunderous audience.
Both men would look out to the crowd, soaking in a truly incredible atmosphere, before delivering what is among the greatest WrestleMania matches of all time in front of the most electric crowd ever.
In 2001, WWE bought out their number one rivals, WCW. On both an episode of Raw and Nitro (as the shows still went head to head), Shane and Vince McMahon were shown within a split screen, with Shane announcing that he had in fact bought WCW, not Vince.
The shocked face from Vince made for a stunning expression, and Shane’s smugness sold it as an even greater moment and a fabulous coup.
The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak is something that will never be replicated, and it felt as though nobody would ever defeat him at the event. However, at WrestleMania 30, Brock Lesnar shockingly won against The Undertaker, ending the streak.

The arena was plunged into a stunned silence, with the camera briefly settling on one fan who has since been dubbed as ‘Shocked Undertaker Guy’, who perfectly summed up what a jaw-dropping moment this was.
Throughout the Attitude Era, the rivalry between Steve Austin and Mr. McMahon defined WWE television, and it was one of the key reasons as to why the company won the Monday Night Wars against WCW. Their feud was electric, producing years of stunning moments.
During the main event of WrestleMania 17, the unthinkable happened as WWE’s number one babyface, Steve Austin, turned heel to align with his once sworn enemy. The pair shaking hands in the middle of a WWE ring was one of the most incredible and unexpected turns of all time.
