LEWISTON - On Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at approximately 11:46 p.m., the Lewiston Police Department responded to Bob Jackson Auto (856 F Street) in Lewiston for reports of a possible burglary.

According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Big Country News Connection, the caller advised dispatch that a window was shattered at the business. In addition, the caller also reported noted that the alleyway seemed "trashed."

The affidavit states that upon arrival, officers found four windows on the north side of the building to be shattered. Officers also reportedly found blood droplets all over the ground on the sidewalk. The affidavit also stated that just inside one of the broken windows, a shopping cart and a long piece of metal rod were located. Officers stated it appeared that the shopping cart and metal rod are what was used to break each of the windows. There were also rocks around the scene.

The affidavit also stated that inside of the building, a classic El Camino car which was located a few feet away from the shattered windows had blood droplets all over the side of it and was scratched in several places, presumably due to the window being shattered. Officers said it appeared that the person who broke the windows may have then grabbed pieces of sharp glass, cutting themselves in the process.

In the alleyway between Main Street and F Street where the initial caller also reported damage, more blood was found. The affidavit stated officers followed the blood to the north side of another business, G&A Wheel Frame, where several more broken windows were located.

A short time later, another officer advised that he located a man that appeared to have blood all over his shorts and shirt and was actively bleeding from his hands. Officers identified the man as 39-year-old Albert Powaukee.

After being treated for injuries at a local hospital, Albert Powaukee was arrested and charged with two counts of Malicious Injury to Property. Both charges are felonies due to both buildings suffering over $1000 in damages.
