Wall, NJ (April 15, 2022) – Two small children from London were ejected from a vehicle during an accident on the Garden State Parkway on Thursday, April 14th.
According to sources, the Toyota Sienna in which they were riding was sideswiped by a Honda Accord near Exit 98 at about 2:40 p.m. The Honda veered off the lefthand side of the roadway and struck two guard rail posts.
The driver of the Toyota also ran off the lefthand side of the road and overturned ejecting a 7-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy who were seriously injured.
Both children were med flighted to an area hospital for immediate medical treatment.
Three lanes were shut down for most of the afternoon, causing a seven-mile back-up approaching the scene.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Proving negligence after a side-impact accident can be contentious because it typically involves a lot of finger-pointing and each driver blaming the other.
This is especially true in un-witnessed events; those accidents where the only source of the circumstances surrounding the crash is the drivers themselves. Thus, calling a defendant’s credibility into question is a cornerstone of your case.
An experienced New Jersey side-impact crash attorney will need to conduct a detailed inquiry of the defendant during their deposition in order to dispute any false claims about which driver failed to exhibit due care. These questions will include factors like time, distance, speed, traffic control devices, and the intersection itself.
